Ongoing

With the help our Lab partners at Quatrefoil Associates, we’re launching the first iteration of a permanent exhibit at The Peale about Moses Williams to shed light on his unique craft and share a story that was nearly forgotten to history. Research is ongoing into Moses Williams’ life and work, and we’ll continue to iterate and expand on this exhibition.

May 19-December 22, 2024

Developed by archaeologist and accessibility expert Dr. Cheryl Fogle-Hatch, Founding Fossils offers a multisensory experience with 3D-printed replicas of fossils from Dr. Bernard Means and Virginia Commonwealth University’s Virtual Curation Laboratory. It will also include tactile versions of art created by VCU artists Maggie Colangelo and Anna Carter. Weaving together these threads, the exhibit blends history, science, and art with a wholistic approach to accessibility.
