Preservation Trades Instructors
Do you have a hands-on skill you’d like to teach? Do you know someone who does? The Accomplished Arts Apprentices (AAA) will be back at The Peale, learning exhibition preparation, historic preservation, and essential life skills from September through December 2024. Apprenticeships at the Peale provide non-traditional mentorship and vocational training in art, curatorial practice, art installation, logistics, and historic building preservation (carpentry, masonry, etc.) to develop transferable skills using arts as the driving force. The Accomplished Arts Apprentices (AAA) program aims to increase equity and inclusion in the arts, creative, and preservation trades with specific focus on people from marginalized communities in Baltimore. Apprentices are paid a living wage while gaining access to meaningful, creative careers.
We’re looking for part-time instructors and partners to provide teaching and full support services, this year, and beyond. All areas of the preservation trades are considered. Life and professional skills, such as budgeting, learning to work as a team, adopting a professional demeanor, etc., are of interest as well.
Help us make the life-changing experience of an AAA apprenticeship available to more of Baltimore’s young people and returning citizens.
