Gathering works made across multiple years, Embers Held invites viewers into a practice shaped by return – returning to the same questions, materials, and emotional terrain with care and patience. Working primarily in charcoal, Clark creates figures that emerge slowly through shadow, memory, and restraint. The exhibition explores identity, grief, healing, and divine femininity, tending to what remaind after intensity rather than seeking resolution or reinvention.
