The Peale, Baltimore’s Community Museum, is recruiting for two part-time positions in its Accomplished Arts Apprenticeship (AAA) Program team, which could be filled by one or two people:
- The AAA Program Manager (PM) is responsible for the overall coordination of the AAA program, including managing the team and its communications; instructor communications and coordination; execution of the daily agenda as assigned by Instructors/Program Lead; curriculum calendar management; facilities and course resource management; and monthly reporting. 20 hours/week @ $35/hour
- The Youth Services Coordinator (YSC) is a natural mentor and specialist in youth development, responsible for the well-being of the apprentices and coordinating support services that ensure their ability to participate in the program, including financial and health services. The YSC is responsible for timekeeping for the apprentices and the accurate monthly reporting of their hours worked; coordinating their transportation and lunches; and monitoring their progress and advocating for their needs on a weekly basis with program leadership and instructors. 15 hours/week @ $35/hour
Because of the dynamic, start-up nature of this program, the PM/YSC must be nimble and creative in problem-solving, quick to respond, flexible, and able to both propose and adopt new tactics and approaches as learnings and needs emerge. The PM/YSC must be an excellent communicator and have a good eye for logistical detail, and should relish start-up and innovative work. Experience working with older teens and young adults as well as school-leavers, returning citizens, and people from disadvantaged backgrounds is essential. Experience in workforce development and teaching are highly desirable. The PM/YSC will be expected to be a self-starter and to work with minimal daily direction, but to request additional support from leadership and the team when required. About AAA
The Accomplished Arts Apprentices (AAA) program aims to increase equity and inclusion in the arts, creative and preservation trades with specific focus on people from marginalized communities in Baltimore. Apprentices are typically aged 19-24 and receive hands-on training in exhibition installation, art handling, historic preservation, and related trades, as well as greater involvement in and appreciation of the arts lifelong.
