Built to Last Exhibition at The Peale
Baltimore artists: there’s still time to make your mark!
The Peale is excited to announce that the submission deadline for Built to Last: A Juried Art Exhibit of Baltimore’s Enduring Landmarks has been extended to October 15, 2025. This extension gives even more artists the opportunity to join this landmark exhibition celebrating the city’s rich architectural heritage.
About the Exhibition

What do a concert hall, a synagogue, and an old newspaper headquarters have in common? In Baltimore, they stand as silent witnesses to the city’s evolution—testaments to architectural resilience, civic imagination, and layered histories. Built to Last invites artists to bring these stories to life through original 2D artworks inspired by ten iconic Baltimore landmarks, including The Peale Museum, Monument Square & Battle Monument, and the Baltimore Trust Company Building.
Selected works will be featured in a gallery exhibition opening in April 2026, in tandem with The Peale’s Illuminator Awards weekend. Jurors include leading curators and cultural voices from Baltimore’s museums and archives.
Prizes & Opportunities
Artists will compete for $5,000 in awards, including a $2,500 Grand Prize. Works will be juried by a distinguished panel and showcased at The Peale, with opportunities for sale and ongoing recognition.
