Ukrainian Arts & Crafts Afternoon at The Peale!

Join us at The Peale, Baltimore’s Community Museum, for a family friendly afternoon exploring traditional Ukrainian crafts.

Try your hand at recreating pysanky, traditional Ukrainian dyed eggs. Pysanky feature intricate geometric shapes and designs, along with plant motifs that symbolize life, springtime, and rebirth. These eggs are intricately crafted using wax to cover portions of the egg before dyeing it in multiple layers to reveal a beautiful design. The Peale will have coloring stations, as well as a few examples of real pysanky to inspire you!

This events activations are geared towards children 3-8 years old – naturally, all are welcome to participate regardless of age!

Enjoy a leisurely afternoon with the family at The Peale, explore our current exhibits, and craft to your hearts content!

This event is hosted by The Peale, a comunity museum located in Baltimore, MD in collaboration with Baltimore Sister Cities (Odesa Sister City Committee). This event is held in conjunction with the We Know Who They Are: Artworks and Narratives from the Invasion of Ukraine exhibition, on display July 31 – October 3, 2026 at The Peale.
