Final Chance

See and Collect Glenn Walker’s Art at The Peale

Exhibit closes October 12, 2025

Time is running out to experience a rare chapter of Baltimore’s art history. This exhibition offers something truly rare: the chance to view — and purchase — original works by Glenn Walker. Once the show closes on October 12, 2025, many of these pieces may never be seen by the public again.

The Peale is hosting Glenn Walker: In the Room and Beyond, an exhibition honoring the Baltimore artist whose work once sparked one of the city’s earliest censorship battles. In 1955, then-Mayor Thomas D’Alesandro Jr. ordered Walker’s painting removed from The Peale, calling it obscene. Nearly 70 years later, his art returns to the very place it was silenced.

“Walker’s story is more than art history — it’s Baltimore history,” said John Suau, Executive Director of The Peale. “This is a final opportunity to rediscover his work and, for some, to bring it into their own collections.”
